Description
Fathom is python3 package for database inspection. It provides a common, straightforward API that allows accessing all kinds of objects defined in database schema: tables, views, indices, stored procedures, etc.
Technologies
Project is done in python3 and uses open source database connection packages that conform to python DB API2. This includes: sqlite3 (from standard library), psycopg2, pymysql, mysqldb.
Tasks
Currently fathom is under development and provides access to tables [columns, indices], stored procedures [parametres, return types], views [columns] and works on Sqlite3, PostgreSQL and MySQL. New tasks include: providing access to other DBMS (Oracle, MS SQL, IBM DB2, etc.) and developing existing API (finding foreign keys for a table, finding triggers, checking which tables are touched by a stored procedure and whatever else that comes to mind).
